How to update website files on Azure?

Created Web Api, uploaded it to Azure.
I made changes to the code, now I want to update the site on Azure, how to do it right?

Visual Studio itself has a file publish icon, which I use. Am I doing the right thing or is it according to the collective farm?

Yes, it is normal.
If you need to automate - the same can be done through the API, or through az, or through powershell (look in the Azure Portal - options should be described there)
