How to update extensions in Google Chrome?

There is an extension published. I decided to update it, did everything, corrected the description, uploaded new pictures, uploaded the extension itself, changed the version, of course.
It appeared in the Chrome Web Store. But it didn't update for me. The docs say that if you update the extension through the developer dashboard, it will be updated for all clients the next time you open it. But nothing like that happens. Why?

From my own experience I know that it is not updated immediately.
On average, this is a day, but it happens that for a week some still have an old version.
