you can add an additional layer with special characters to the layout, and call this layer when you click on the modifier:
you have modifiers - alt, control, shift
typical scheme, you click on the shift and you open an additional layer with Capital letters, you can also do it with with any other modifier, and add your own symbol layer. But for this you need to create a custom keyboard layout.
