I regularly meet in Russian texts the word "crutch" in the meaning of "temporary, often unreliable, solution." Used in a negative or ironic sense.

The changes were in 16 places in 9 files, plus a small crutch in the form of a trigger in the database.

Is there an English equivalent containing the same amount of irony?
And, at the same time, is there an English equivalent to the expression "reinvent the wheel"?
