How to transfer multimedia data over the network?

Hello! The problem is this: I can’t understand the essence of the action, as it’s too messy in my head, help me sort everything out. It is necessary to develop a service for video conferencing, video training (such as Abode Connect, Apache Openmeeting, etc).
The following protocols are used to transfer multimedia data: RTP, RTCP, RTSP.
1) In order to be able to transfer data from clients to the server, do you need a server that supports these protocols? Tell me which ones are there (Red5 - am I digging in that direction?)?
2) How can I transfer multimedia data via HTTP protocol? Somehow I came across a page where video was transmitted using this protocol, it seems like the header is standard and the body is just data, or was it a stupid dream?
SIP, as I understand it, is also a multimedia data transfer protocol
3) What servers are there to work with it? (Asterisk - is it?)
4) How can you organize a video chat resource using Flash, more precisely, how does it happen in Flash? (I didn’t find any diagram or links or a book, otherwise I didn’t find anything worthwhile)
Well, the most crazy question to start with: 5) in fact, all these protocols are just data transfer rules that are formed and processed in a certain way?
