How to transfer mac os completely from hdd to ssd?

Greetings.
There is a working mac os, there is an ssd. It is necessary to transfer everything completely to it, so that everything works and starts, as on the current hdd.
How to do it? I've read online and there are a lot of options:

  • some recommend completely reinstalling the OS and then reinstalling and configuring everything in it
  • others recommend making a disk clone through Disk Utility
  • others write about the time machine
  • quads recommend migration assistant
  • fifth advise third-party software.

Under which of them will everything work stably, and perhaps better, what do you advise?

I always transfer and transfer through a disk image (clone) (disk utility), because this is the fastest way.
never had any problems. the only point is that to remove the image, you need to be able to boot the system from another disk (I use either an installation flash drive or an external disk with OSX installed for this).

If the partition is large, but there is little information on it and you need to transfer it to a smaller disk, then you need to:
1 - boot from the installation disk / flash disk;
2 - run Disk Utility;
3 - Reduce the partition that will be transferred to the smallest possible size by moving the partition slider (it will probably take a long time due to large fragmentation);
4 - clone the disk using the Restore button (select the source partition, click Restore, Destination, select a new partition on the new disk, having previously created it);
5 - increase the copied partition on the target disk.
Done, the system is transferred to another disk, of a smaller volume.
