How to transfer files from old hdd to new computer?

Good day to all!

I assembled a new computer, bought everything absolutely new for it, including hdd and ssd, installed the system on ssd.

There is a lot of necessary data left on the old hdd that I would like to transfer to the new hdd.
Therefore, I have now connected the old hdd to the new PC and am trying to open the user partition that was on the old computer in order to reach the folders with files, but for about an hour this section has been trying to open (at least the download in the manager shows 100% on the old hdd), but it doesn't open :)
Tell me, please, maybe I'm doing something wrong and if, indeed, I'm doing something wrong, tell me how to do it right)

Thank you in advance for any help!

If 100% loading means you are very likely to have problems with the drive itself, especially if you listen to the noise this drive makes, if it is a continuous series of shuffling or knocking sounds (about 1-2 seconds each), you can listen to examples here . If there are no such sounds, it does not mean that the disk is not broken, but their presence almost certainly proves it.
If the data is dear to you, do not try to recover it yourself, especially if you do not have the knowledge and equipment for this, take it to the service at least for diagnostics.
ps I would first, before carrying the disk to the service, boot into the linux system using any live usb image, since linux, unlike windows, provides more control over how much extra disk access needs to be done, more precisely, in its delivery they go appropriate utilities.

any live cd download and boot from it.
there and copy the files as written above - the new Windows changes file access, it will be a long time
live cd ignores access and therefore simply opens the old disk for you

If your computer asked "no access to the folder, get access?", Now it methodically bypasses all the files in your profile folder and reassigns rights to them. If you have tens of thousands of files there, then this is a long time.
You can use absolutely any data recovery programs, they ignore these access rights and copy files to you without waiting. But in general, sooner or later the procedure will end and you will be able to copy the files anyway.
