How to transfer content from a site on MODX Revo to MODX?

There is a site on MODX Revo and there is a newly created site with a new template also on MODX Revo. You need to migrate content from the old site to the new site. I had 2 ideas:
1) Stupidly parsing and programmatically stuffing the received elements into TV fields with programmatic creation of resources using the MODX API.
2) Create a snippet on the old site that will recursively upload the necessary resources according to the template (additional fields are attached to the template) or according to the parent (the value of the fields is attached to the resource id) for the new site, and it will select them and again programmatically create the required resources.
Which of these options is correct? Or is there some civilized approach or plugin/extension/addition?
