How to transfer audio over the network?

I got the idea to put speakers in some places that would listen to the broadcast from a PC via Wi-Fi or Ethernet. TL-WR703N (OpenWrt) + USB sound card immediately came to mind, but somehow it turns out to be a little expensive for each point.
I found such words as AoE , AoIP (Audio over Ethernet/IP)... But these are usually devices for professionals. Has anyone tried to implement something like this? MB can you solder yourself or buy something from the Chinese?)

It's easier to google in the direction of "Bluetooth headphones with your own hands"
in a nutshell soldered to the output of the bluetooth module, the input to the active speaker and connects to it like regular headphones, but this is if the distance is adequate.

PulseAudio is capable of sound over the network.
You can also consider AirPlay from Apple, there are free implementations (Shairport, Shaiport-sync, etc.).
