How to get the position of Junior Developer IOT and where to "dig" before getting it?

Toaster people, good night. It's never too late to learn, as they say, and the topic of the "Internet of Things" interested me seriously. Experience in this - zero as in programming in general.
Briefly about myself:
4 years in a technical school (mechanics) + 6 years as an electrical engineer / electronics engineer at the university,
I was looking for myself in print design, then website support, Internet advertising, a little SEO, ended up drawing banners under Flesh with the failure to conquer Flex by stupidity. Further, system administration, PC architecture, networks, satellite TV, etc. In short, I came to what I always wanted - programming. I stick in Java with a bias on Android, I even think of going to juniors)) At the same time, the Internet of Things took my interest by the balls and I coughed up a couple of Arduino and raspberry pi microcontrollers and a DIY constructor box for them.
And here is the solution, from which, as good people, you may want to dissuade me. But where to start? Google, of course, is a good solution, but you can choose not that, but you want something that you are directly sure of for sure.
It is clear that there are no standards that need to be carefully shared for Node.js and probably C ++.
I would like to start right and choose the right materials.
I really hope for your advice, friends, and summing up, does it make sense to climb there now? What are the prospects? And where to start? What are the minimum skills and at what level do you need to have to pass the threshold for the Junior Developer IOT? What literature / sites / services / free experience do you recommend?

need to be carefully divided for Node.js

No, enough! Leave this horror on the web. God gave you C and C++, what do you lack in them? Or are you one of those who says "ko-ko-ko, is translated into machine code"? Microcontrollers are usually limited in resources and pulling a javascript interpreter there is an expensive pleasure. And according to the subject, I doubt that you will find a job where you need to collect crafts on arduino or raspberry, they are suitable for studying, and it is not profitable to mass-produce devices on them.
