Arduino not accepting sketch, how to fix?

I'm trying to upload a test sketch, blink. to this railroad. Arduino mega2560 altmega16au.
It also fails to write the bootloader.
I can give teamviewer access.
Error when launching the bootloader.

avrdude: usbdev_open(): did not find any USB device "usb"
