How to transfer a pencil drawing to Photoshop?

There is a photo of a pencil drawing. You need to transfer it to Photoshop and then colorize it. What tools are used to do this in Photoshop?

Scan drawing. Remove the background, leave only the outline (this is better, but not necessary). To paint on the layer above, the layer must be in overlay mode, so you will see the outline on the bottom layer, but not touch it.
Paint with a brush :)

Only by scanning and direct hands can you correctly transfer your drawing to Photoshop.
