Auth Code (aka EPP Code) for .COM must be available without any conditions.
The migration requirements in this zone are less stringent than in .RU/.РФ, and the only protection is, in fact, a domain lock.
It is possible that the code is sent to the mail upon clicking on a link.
Either way, shake support. It's not certain that they will be able to issue the code (availability of transfer codes for support is a potential hole), but require that you have a way to get this code.
NIC.ru is that office.
By the way, for normal foreign registrars, renewal is even cheaper - in the region of $10, and for some even lower.
The transfer, by the way, is usually subsidized and costs even less by a dollar and a half.
UPD:
By the way, Jacob gave a good link below, but apparently he read the wrong paragraph. You don't need to go anywhere, the procedure is described here: https://www.nic.ru/help/perenos-domena-iz-ru-cente...
1. Remove the domain transfer lock.
go to the section for clients, specifying the contract number and password;
select Services → My domains;
check the status in the Change registrar line. If the status is Forbidden, click the link with the domain name;
on the page that opens, click the Edit link;
clear the selection in the Change of registrar is prohibited field. Click the Save Changes button.
2. Get the registry authorization code (secret code).
To receive the code, send a request to [email protected] indicating the domain and asking for the code to transfer the domain to another registrar. In response, you will be sent an authorization link. After authorization, the code will be sent to your e-mail.
They extend the roux for 900r +, and many have 200-250r bar. I don't understand where the extra charges come from.
