How to connect a domain purchased on REG.RU to FirstVDS?

On REG.RU, I indicated FirstVDS addresses in the DNS of the NS domain. Then he added the domain through ISPManager, specifying the same NS addresses.
Did I do everything right? And then, reading articles on the Internet got confused.

It's not clear what "connect a domain" means.
It's one thing to set up DNS support for a domain name. To do this, the registrar sets the addresses of at least two DNS servers for the domain (one of them is the main one, the rest are secondary in case the main one fails), to which requests from others (provider DNS servers, routers, etc.) will go. These are NS records for the domain. These settings are made strictly at the registrar (reg.ru).
The second is actually setting up the translation of domain names from this domain to IP addresses and other parameters. It must be done on the main DNS server serving the domain (the one that is registered in the NS record); to it, naturally, there should be an access. If this server is located at the registrar (reg.ru), then you need to configure it there. If on FirstVDS, then you need to configure it on FirstVDS. Here you can and should configure records of types A (translating a domain name into an IPv4 address), AAAA (the same, only in IPv6), MX (mail servers serving the domain), etc., etc.
