How to teach Tesseract OCR on Mac OS X?

Please explain to me how to teach Tesseract OCR ( https://github.com/tesseract-ocr). I installed it in the terminal along with homebrew, downloaded jTessBoxEditor. But for several instructions, I could not navigate. I need to train him to read some information (TIN, amount and time of transaction) from checks, different checks. I don't really understand how to train him. If someone in the comments will explain to me, I will be extremely grateful =)
