How to style the terminal in Ubuntu?

At first I tried hyper, but in my opinion this is a complete glitch.
Plez into the settings of the terminal itself (Ubuntu, Unity), and there the cat cried these settings, font, color. Well, I changed the background to the Monokai color, that's all))
I constantly meet very beautiful terminals, including those on Ubuntu. How to do it? What are the ways?
And another question - is it possible to stylize these terrible tabs?

In the standard, there seemed to be a lot of options before, now xs.
And so there are alternatives like Terminator terminal, tilda, etc.
And what you see most often with backlight, beauty and other things is not a terminal, it's more like Vi or Vim
