How to start landing?

Good day to all.
What do you need to do to launch a landing page?
I have a ready-made layout (html & css files). There is hosting. What should be done so that the page opens not at mydomen.ru/main.html, but at mydomen.ru/ without installing the engine. Maybe there are some special platforms or I don't even know what.

Rename to index.html

on the hosting, register a domain like site.ru and fill in eo, name the first file with layout index.html or index.php
