How to start freelancing a translator (from English)?

Interested in the current situation of working/freelancing as a translator/editor remotely.
Where to begin?
What are the resources, schemes, taking into account current realities? Foreigners are also interested.
Pay level?
Direction: English - Russian (preferred). I have relevant education and teaching experience.
It's cool if you send a link to your profile or describe your experience.
Thank you.

Make an online translation service (order for yourself). Advertise through google adwords and/or yandex direct + social networks. In parallel, register on freelance exchanges and advertise there, also collecting orders in parallel. Just on Upwork or its equivalent, you won’t even make a living with translations. Especially having only one language in the arsenal. And with the service, you can offer many areas of translation by distributing tasks to other translators.

From registration on the exchange. It seems to be obvious.
I also did my first project for a freelancer, who himself earns just by translating.
