How to start doing Olympiad programming?

A little about me: I am finishing the 7th grade, I understand Android programming at the Junior level (I can write an application with a database and third-party libraries). There is a desire to develop in Olympiad programming. Now the questions are: "coding" for Android in Java, is coding for Android in Java much different from simple coding in Java? Is there a significant part of the Olympiad programming of geometric problems? Things are not very good with her, but she is good with algebra. And accordingly, how and where to move in the Olympiad programming. PS regular school

There are no and cannot be olympiads in Russian schools concerning java. The maximum you can count on is c#, and then in grades 10-11. And you won’t be able to participate in non-school ones, you need to ride around the country, and you are in the 7th grade.
ps as for usefulness, it develops logical thinking and an approach to solving problems, although these problems will not come across, for that there will be those in which the skills gained in solving these are useful. Do not listen to those who say that it is useless, you will face such tasks that will make your brain work non-stop for a week (verified).

1. Choose an Olympiad.
2. Find the job base.
3. Learn all solutions/patterns.

Universities usually have classes for schoolchildren in Olympiad programming.
Just find out where it is and come to them.

You go to http://codeforces.com and start solving contests there. At the same time, you master the theory of algorithms https://stepik.org/course/217/promo. Additionally, you can take a tutor.
There are various tasks in Olympiad programming, in particular, geometric ones.
