How to start a project?

I'm having wild problems with git again :) (git bush)
made a commit
git remote add origin *
trying to push, this problem:
fatal: The current branch new_f has no upstream branch.
To push the current branch and set the remote as upstream, use
git push --set-upstream origin new_f
Help push the project :)
Preferably step by step
