How to speed up Excel over the network?

Good day to all!
There is such a divisible:
We have a file server on windows 7 prof (persons), when opening a document over the network (that is, computer A accesses the file server), there are brakes with the work of spreadsheet documents, namely EXCEL when using functions or pivot tables. And when copying the same file to the local PC, everything works fine. At the same time, we have a local network of 1 gigabit. Raid 1 (mirror) on the file server.
How can you optimize?

Excel has linked tables. That is, when you open it, it climbs to open other files and so it warps.

ride one is a mirror... will speed up ride 0 for two drives.
On the topic, it's better to do everything right and use if you really need Excel, then SharePoint with Excel .

The file server, in my opinion, is better to be moved to Windows Server 2008/2012.
On client versions of Windows, there are problems with the speed of access to shares and the number of connections.
