How to solve the dilemma with the choice of sphere?

Hello!
Briefly - according to the diploma - a marketer (specialist). No experience in marketing as such. 26 years old age. I live in a deep province in the Far East.
Today we face a fateful dilemma. Where to go after all - in marketing (probably with an emphasis on SEO and the Internet segment) or all the same in Web development?
According to my superficial analysis, there is less competition in marketing, but people with experience in promoting projects are needed everywhere (and where can I get it?). That is, for beginners with a diploma, at best, if you are very lucky, you can get a job for bad food. There are also vacancies on HH, where the requirements clearly state "the presence of a profile diploma" marketing ". Is it better to pay attention to such vacancies in the first place? In general, salaries are comparable to the IT sphere, but only at a fairly high level of positions.
Now about layout. The competition is higher, but the salary for beginners is higher than in marketing. In general, layout is probably more interesting for me than marketing.True, I also have no experience, plus there is no education and good knowledge in the field of layout.Which
way to choose? Thank you!

Do what brings you pleasure. In any case, if you stop at layout, you will have to learn a lot.

wherever you go, it will seem to you that “the grass is greener in a foreign meadow”, in fact, a beginner will earn miserable crumbs (if he earns at least something at all) and everywhere it will take more than one year to become a professional.

garbage on vegetable oil, there, like nowhere else in other areas, sales are required, and not a diploma,
I just do the first time I hear that diplomas are issued for this crap.

Neither in internet marketing nor in web development is a formal education necessary and very rarely required (not to mention traditional marketing). In Internet marketing, the average salary is lower, but do not forget that most often there is a rigidly tied payment to kpi and there are bonuses, I have a friend who works in an agency, gets a fixed 50, plus 15% from the profit in the Republic of Kazakhstan, as a result, in a good month runs 150k (mostly context). It’s more difficult to start in layout, it’s banal because the expectations from beginner specialists in this area are quite high, but here again everything depends on what you are more interested in - if layout is going well, then master it.

In general, the first six months you can not consider the salary, you will have time to change jobs during this time and most importantly, how you will grow and how much you will earn at the end of these six months. Choose what you like
