How to share folders in Windows 7 via VPN?
The situation is as follows, I installed Openvpn on VMPlayer in the office. Since it turned out that the subnets in the office and at home are the same, I changed the subnet at home, and at the moment:
Home 192.168.0.0/24
Office 192.168.1.0/24
Now I connect to the office VPN from my home computer, and without problems I ping the office server, which has an IP 192.168.1.4 . So there is a real connection.
The office server is on Windows 7, as is my home computer, and this machine has several folders that are shared with the office.
The task is to access these folders via VPN. In theory, after connecting, they should already be displayed on the left in explorer windows, in the Network block. But there's nothing there. Moreover, it does not go out and be forced to connect by adding a network drive by its local IP.
I think the problem is somewhere in the settings of the Windows shared folder service. Workgroup is the same, what else could be the matter is not yet clear.
Maybe someone knows?
Thanks

bad when people do not know elementary. downright awful. they will not be displayed without a domain. alas and ah. =) mount with handles and you will be happy
In the days of XP, the firewall rule that is responsible for sharing files and folders restricted access only to computers on the same subnet. You can try changing the scope of this rule to "Any IP address" so that shared files and folders can be accessed from any subnet.
