How to share and receive wifi ubuntu 14.04?

Hello everyone, I just don’t understand how to make it so that wifi is distributed and received in ubuntu 14.04. Tried through ap-hotspot and many more options.
It worked on windows7. I'm not very good at this, so maybe someone knows how to do this?
