Why don't you ask those. support from your host. They know exactly the features of virtualization.
If they have KVM then it should work with Ubuntu 16.04
Which means "failed automatically". If you are talking about automatic address detection using the DHCP protocol, then it is usually not configured for VDS. Specify the address, mask, gateway, NS manually.

In ubuntu 16.04 network interfaces are now named enp0s* by default instead of eth* as before.
