How to set up internet over the air between two routers?
I confess my helplessness and ask for advice.
Situation:
At home, Internet via cable from a local provider.
The cable is plugged into the TP-Link WR-841N router.
There is a grid 192.168.0.x/255.255.255.0 Router: 192.168.0.1
The Internet is used by air: two laptops and a droid phone.
Dismantling cabinets at home and relatives found two pieces of iron: XBox and router DLink DIR-300 Rev.1A
DLinik successfully flashed, now it costs dd-wrt
What I want
I want to connect XBox to Dlink with a cord. It's the cable.
Next, Dlink must take the Internet from TP-Link (ie, from the provider) over the air.
As tried
in different ways. Articles on the net are basically how to make hotspots. And I have, as I understand it, a little different.
The last thing that was done:
* static ip is configured on dlink (as on a laptop).
* dhcp is configured on dlink (its own network 192.168.1.x). Those. I expect that the Xbox will have an address like 192.168.1.3, for example
* wi fi settings (name, passwords) - 1 in 1 as on TP-Link
Now you need to somehow configure the bridge?

Helped mdex-nn.ru/page/nastrojka-d-link-dir300-v-mode-wi-fi-povtoritelja/ ,
You need to enable the WDS option on the DIR-320.
If you have dd-wrt, then here is how to do it in detail
WDS creates additional overhead traffic on the network. A repeater is also not required.
You can also get by with client-bridge .
“Essentially the same client (phone, laptop) that connects to a wi-fi point, but with the ability to distribute the Internet to the network.”
It is configured similarly to the 1st solution (only choose client-bridge instead of Repeater -bridge ).
