How to set up cron in Drupal?

By default, cron runs once an hour, but there is one problem - when registering, an email is sent to the user, but not immediately, but after the scheduled (once an hour) cron run.
How to change and where are these settings set (site admin panel, in hosting settings)?

crontab is configured on the hosting side

In Drupal 8: Administration > Configuration > System > Cron
In general, you most likely have a problem not in the cron, but in the mail server (SMTP)
