How to set up code highlighting in jst/eco templates?

In order for PhpStorm to highlight html in template files, just add the *.eco extension in the settings to the file types associated with html.
And here's how to teach it to understand coffeescript (or javascript) inside <% %> ?.
Tried googling, looking for plugins, picking Language Injections and Template Data Languages , but to no avail.

The guys from technical support replied that there is no standard way to do this.
They gave a link to a solution, but it did not work for me.
