How to set a time estimate (not in story points) for a task on a scrum board in Jira?

I can log the time, but I can't set the initial estimate.
There are admin rights. The pre-assessment task is in the Backlog, not the Active Sprint.

Isn't it possible to put Estimate right away when starting Log Work
And then display Progress on the board
