How to send an email through the WPNewsman plugin?

In general, the essence is this: it was necessary to make it possible to subscribe to the newsletter from the site. The site is currently on a local server. I found the WPNesman Lite plugin, I liked it, but it doesn’t send letters. I suspect that it’s definitely not the plugin. It gives an error that it didn’t pass authentication, but I’m just doing everything according to the instructions. You can see the settings on the screenshot. How to be? What could be the reason?
PS I tried the options not through SMTP, it gives a message that the letter was sent successfully, but in fact there are no letters =)

Because "sent" says php, but on your local server there is no one to send - no MTA . But the letters must be lying around somewhere. In Denver it was in some file or directory. Read the manuals for your local server build.
And on the screen, the SMTP error is clearly visible - incorrect data for authorization.
