How to send a file via https?

Good day to all!
In a network closed from the Internet, there are several computers with Windows. Some software is installed on them. It needs to be updated after a certain period of time. To do this, I looked where the program downloads files from, deployed a WAMP server on a network with computers, created a DNS entry with the name of the resource from which the program downloads files, created a directory structure. Then he merged files from the Internet and transferred them to the network with computers ... in general, he "deceived" the program. But after the next update, the program began to request files (namely, only one file) using the https protocol. I thought that the protocol redirection setting from https to http in the .htaccess file would work - it did not help.
Actually, the question is: How to give this program a file via https?

well, actually set up https on the web server and, by analogy, put the file. The question is only in the certificate. It is clear that you will be posting a self-signed one. This is where the question arises - will the program check its validity or not. If not, then everything will work.
