How to select a resolution over 1024 for a monitor connected to a laptop in Windows 7 (Intel 965 video)?
I've tried everything I can, I don't even know what the problem is. In Ubuntu, everything works by editing 1 file and a couple of commands in the console.
Clean Windows 7, downloaded video drivers (Intel 965). I tried to download a special driver for video, with support for high resolutions. Installed the driver on the monitor Acer G226HQL. I connect via a regular VGA cable.
I read all sorts of instructions, tried to repeat. But no matter what I do, for a monitor connected to a laptop, the maximum resolution is always 1024x768.
How to force other permissions to work?

Read this article. As far as I remember, it was the CATALYST Control Center that helped me.
So far, I've tried a lot of things.
Notebook Acer, judging by the tag you have too.
