How to scan via shared Canon MF3010?

PC running Windows 10 Workstation.
There is a Canon i-SENSYS MF3010 (not networked), connected via USB to computer 1, installed drivers, set up printing and scanning, shared the printer over the network, everything is ok.

On computer 2, I added a printer and it works, but there were difficulties with scanning, it seems that the installed drivers are not applicable to the shared printer.

Is it possible to scan from a shared printer?

No one has been able to scan from the printer yet. Joke.
But seriously, you essentially have two different devices - a printer and a scanner. And unlike a printer, a usb-scanner simply cannot share.
You would be fine with a fully networked device.

It is not very clear what benefit can be obtained from REMOTE scanning, because you need to approach the scanner and put the scanned document. I’m not sure about cannon, but I know for sure that there are scanners that automatically scan a document by pressing a button on the scanner itself (a program is launched that places the document in a configured folder), delve into the default scanning program and documentation.
If you need to control the scanner remotely - just connect to the machine using the standard rdp terminal access protocol (mstsc utility), connect to the desktop as if you were sitting at the computer itself (with some minor lags due to the network and processor speed).
Working revisions of the windows operating system will block the current user session, preventing multiple users from using the machine at the same time, but this can be bypassed using rdpwrap

Buy a print server and you will have a network printer. There will be no need for shamanism with a shared resource + does not depend on the on / off of the computer (off, went to sleep and there is no printer).
