How to save the current RAID controller configuration?

There is a raid 10 (6 disks) on the LSI 1068 controller built into the motherboard.
Is it possible to somehow perform the following manipulations:
1. Remove all 6 disks from the controller.
2.Reconfigure the controller in raid1 (with new disks)
3.After some time of operation, configure the controller back to raid10 (with old disks)
After reconfiguring the disks in the raid array, as far as I know, the disks are initialized, and therefore the current information is lost.
How to save the configuration of the raid10 array so that you can restore the old array and, consequently, the data on the old disks?

There are some controllers that can store multiple configurations.
If your controller does not know how, then - only data transfer. There are no other options

The raid configuration is not usually stored in the controller, but on disks.

Isn't the configuration written to the disk itself?
