How to save feedback?

Good afternoon! I'm actually a front-end, but I'm just wondering how it's possible to do this?
The site has 5 inputs, each input acts as a star. Let's say the user put 4 stars, that is, put 4 checkmarks, on 5 checkboxes. How can I make sure that after updating the page, these 4 checkboxes remain?
If I asked a stupid or strange question, don't judge, I don't understand Back-End at all :)
