How to save emails as plain text (Libreoffice)?

Bottom line: there is a .xls document with data as in the first picture, and there is LibreOffice. The document is filled in as in the first picture, after saving it opens as in the second picture.

Task: to make sure that after saving the document, the data in the cell remains in the same form as in the first picture.

Created a document in LibreOffice\Calc (Version: 4.4.2.2).
I entered the text from the top picture in two ways - (1) from the keyboard and (2) pasting from the clipboard.
Saved the ODS file. Opened the file. Everything is left in its original form.
Saved the file in XLS, XLSX. In both resulting files, the formatting floated, and in different ways. The cell entered from the clipboard was less affected. The cell, entered manually, began to look, [almost] like yours.
Conclusion: if you want to work correctly with XLS, use MS Excel.
By the way, LibreOffice honestly talks about the possibility of losing formatting when saving in XL *, so it was not worth being surprised.
Solution if Excel cannot be installed for any reason:
- use other programs (maybe other free offices will allow you to work with the document more correctly, or google sheets)
- "normalize" the document by storing heterogeneous data in separate cells instead of one, which, by the way, is more convenient for subsequent data processing
- think about using a real database, if the table is used as one
