How to run an application in a separate X shell?
Ubuntu 14.04, I start the OS, a greeting appears on vt07
, waits for the password to enter the system, I do nothing, I switch to another console - Alt + Ctrl + F1 null &"
I run the application on vt08: "DISPLAY=:1 && gnome-calculator"
I get the message: "Failed to open the display"
But if you log in to vt07, then from there the same command starts the gnome-calculator on vt08 as expected.
What am I doing wrong?
