How to replace the desktop menu with mmenu?

Hello. Actually I'm making a menu and a question arose. There is a regular desktop menu, but I would like to connect the mmenu plugin for the mobile version of the site and the adaptive menu will work. But I'm not sure how to do it right. There is such an option: add two menus to html, make mmenu display: none, and the second one will work, and in media queries, display mmenu and the other display: none. But is it right in terms of website optimization? Or are there other options?

It's better to change styles, IMHO. Two menus - not the best option in terms of optimization
