How to replace HDD with SSD

Faced the following problem.

I have a DELL Vostro 3350 (13") laptop, it has a 750 GB HDD screw, a 100 GB system partition, of which about 80 GB are actually occupied. I decided to upgrade the screw, the idea is to replace the current one with a 120 GB SSD, and put the old DVD in its place Bought

an SSD Kingston 120 Gb Notebook Kit with a USB pocket, watched a video tutorial on how to migrate, just take out the old one, put the new one in the pocket and copy the partition to the new one using Acronis that came on the CD with the SSD Disconnect the external drive and set up

booting from a new one, that's it, but everything went wrong, Acronis does not see an external drive, so I can't create a partition .as an alternative. I ran into a problem that Acronis creates several .tib files of about 4 GB each. And when I start the laptop, I can only select one, if I select one of the generated ones, it gives an error.

The question is, how do I get my way? If there is no complete solution, tell me how to make a backup in Acronis with one .tib file?

Regarding the second part, put an old disk instead of a DVD drive, for this you need an HDD Caddy adapter , please tell me where you can get it in Ukraine?

Thank you.

Try clonezilla (http://clonezilla.org/) - this software has always helped me. Perfectly clones partitions and disks.

1) Select the "do not split" option when backing up, if you have a regular ntfs, then there will be no problems, it is there.
2) If there are several files, you must select the first one when restoring. The rest will just pick up automatically. It's just a multi-volume archive.

If the beech is with licensed Windows, then there is still a hidden OS recovery partition. I'm using a LiveCD with Ghost32 on a recycled flash drive. Copying disc to disc. I specify the desired partition sizes on the new disk, of course, no less than the data occupied. Everything. Good luck.

Several times I made a transfer with clonezilla:
1. booted with clonezilla from a flash drive
2. copied the partition from the stock disk to an external ssd in a usb case
3. swapped the disks in places
pitfalls two
1. the original partition is smaller than the ssd, then just expand the partition using Windows tools
2. the original a larger ssd section, reduced it with acronis beforehand (but it's better to buy a larger disk if finances allow).
BUT! Now I still prefer to install Windows from scratch directly on the ssd. The main thing is to have a distribution kit and a sticker.
There are undoubted (for me) advantages in this:
1. no offal is pulled from the old disk.
2. installation takes less time than fiddling with partitions.
3. I also install programs from scratch (the main thing is to save the configs beforehand, if the program allows it).

I made my instructions for installing an SSD in Lenovo laptops without removing the native HDD. And I recorded a video about installing an SSD-shnik, I just have a Lenovo laptop. This method can also work with laptops from other manufacturers, the method is the same. Go ahead!) In Word and PDF, I threw it off (so as not to throw it on dubious file hosting services) to Yandex disk https://yadi.sk/d/XZt_fK-S0xxtUw and to the Mail.ru cloud https://cloud.mail.ru/public /5ivL/HXAqNvCX7
