How to replace clone and replace hard drive?

Good afternoon! There is a server running server 2012r2, the roles of AD DC and terminal server 1c are deployed on it. A fairly simple hdd is installed on the computer, there is no raid. The task is to replace the disk and set up raid 1. Can anyone describe step by step how and by what means to perform these operations and what jambs should be expected

Before all the manipulations, make a backup and put it aside, clone the disk to a new one, check what starts up and be happy.
If there is a desire to make RAID1 - then better hardware, with BBU, paid or software - it's not worth it, it doesn't work very well.
Domain controller and terminal server - not the best solution.
