How to remove unnecessary styles from the table of contents in MS Office Word for Mac 2016?

The problem appeared absolutely suddenly. When I want to build a table of contents using only my styles, highlighting them with checkmarks in the order of levels, the program saves this, but does not delete my settings, although I unchecked them wherever not needed. I tried to reinstall the office and do it in a new document, everywhere the same problem: the old table of contents parameters are NOT deleted, but new ones are only added to them. I don't know what to do anymore.
Initially, the program offers this option:

Then I set only my 3 styles, all the rest are inactive:

After clicking "OK", the program turns on its styles again:
