I want to stream video from a Mac to an old VGA projector wirelessly. Which solution to choose?

Ideally, I would like to make a kind of media center so that you can watch downloaded movies and can be used as a Smart TV to watch Youtube. It would be great to make a media server for storing movies so that you can transfer them over the air to the projector. If this is too complicated, then at least you need the ability to send videos directly from your MacBook.
