Uninterruptable power source

How to remove the IPPON uninterruptible power supply error that the battery pack is open?

There is an IPPON Innova 1k UPS. Yes, I know it's old, but it lasts a long time. Worked for 6 years in a row, a video surveillance server and a router are connected to it. At one point, after a power outage, when it was turned on, the UPS began to squeak, the display was red, the bOPN error was written on the screen. Looked at the manual, the error means that the battery pack is open. As you understand, everything has been closed and untouched since its installation. When there is a power outage, the UPS beeps for two seconds and shuts down. At first I thought that the wire that connects the battery and the UPS had come off. I unscrewed the front panel, moved these wires, reconnected them. I twist the panel back, all to no purpose. Basically, I don't know what to do anymore. For now, I don’t want to take it to the service, can you help? Thanks in advance.

Read the manual even more carefully, test the battery.
Problem: The
battery pack is open
Possible cause:
The battery pack is not connected correctly
Solution:

  • Do a battery test.
  • Check if the battery pack is connected to the UPS.
  • Check if the battery circuit breaker is on.

In general, we solved the problem. It turned out that the contact in the battery assembly had come off. We replaced all the batteries, cleaned the contacts and fixed them tightly and the UPS began to work in normal mode without errors. Most likely, the contacts came off due to the fact that we put a heavy switch on the UPS, and with its weight it pressed on the batteries and opened them. It's not clear why the error is called "battery box open", in fact it should be called "missing batteries" or something like that. In general, thanks for the help.
