How to remove microphone noise in ubuntu?

Installed Elementary OS Luna (and on all * ubuntu) and there was a very big problem. The microphone is very noisy, as if the mic boost is turned to the maximum. Checked in alsamixer, it is at zero. What is the problem?
There can be no problems with the microphone, since it worked well in windows 7 a few hours ago (Mic boost at maximum, noise reduction was turned on and no noise).
Noise is everywhere both in skype and just in the recording.
A similar problem with the built-in microphone.

See if all the sliders regarding the microphones are displayed in the system visibility zone (there is something like that in the settings somewhere). Sometimes they are hidden from the user, but turned to default values and active.

As an option, you can recompile pulseaudio (without make install) with the addition of an option with noise reduction (noise cancelling or echo cancelation), this is done through the webrtc-aec library. Somewhere I saw how to do this, but I can’t find it now, it was on askubuntu.

I know it's been 3 years, but it's an important question! I went into the settings and simply removed the microphone gain, set the microphone volume slider to "no gain"
