How to remember the position viewed in the series?

Is there some kind of player in which you can specify where the episodes of the series are, start watching, then turn off, and which will return to the desired series and position in the series itself the next time you start it?
Or how to set it up in VLC?

Media Player Classic can
Play files sequentially from a folder
Remember the last file and playback position
A small minus - when you start it does not automatically start playing the last file, you need to poke the Play button.
