How to refresh data without page refresh with freemarker?

I use spring boot and freemarker. There are examples on the net of how this works with a timelif, but the syntax of the timelif is not very clear to me. Is it possible to do this with freemarker?

ajax technology. Look towards ajax (jquery, for example).
Well, as you were already told .... it doesn’t matter at all what kind of template engine.
