How to reduce the number of hard disk accesses in Windows 8?
I often noticed in the resource monitor that when idle, the disk load sometimes jumps up to 100%, and it is occupied by some, apparently, system process. The question, in fact, is how to increase the life of the hard disk, what unnecessary processes can be disabled, how to reduce the number of accesses, is it possible to turn on some checkboxes?

You can read about RamDisk, this is such a thing that creates a "physical" partition in RAM. That is, you can create a small hard drive in RAM that works very fast, but is cleared when you reboot. I usually use it to store temporary files, reconfigure system temp and tmp and browser cache. Hence, the speed of work is higher, there are fewer accesses to the logical disk.
Be sure to read about the nuances and cons.
