How to recover data after formatting NTFS->EXT4?

When installing the system on the machine, I chose the wrong disk. As a result, the NTFS disk with data was formatted in EXT4. The error was noticed before the process of copying files. As a result, nothing was overwritten. How can data be recovered? There is an empty disk of the same size.

Testdisk does a great job with this. He is open source. Able to restore previous partition tables without loss!
Just in case, remove the dump via dd and specify the path to it for the program, it will display all the partitions found, if everything in place can be restored on the original disk.
Once I ran into a similar problem, tried many different tools, but only TestDisk could help.

I had this too, restored using GetDataBack for NTFS

Use R.saver:
https://rlab.ru/tools/rsaver.html
It is free and does not require installation, but restores data at the level of the best commercial software.
Specifically in your case, taking into account the fact that no new data was written to the disk, the chances should be good.
Most importantly, if you have an SSD, do not forget about TRIM, it can destroy data irretrievably.
