How to record cable TV on a laptop?

I am on a trip, I have only a laptop with Win7
. I want to record a TV channel broadcast. There is such a box:

I understand correctly that you can connect my laptop to it via HDMI? And what software is needed to show the channel on a laptop? Then it will be possible to record even from the screen, the main thing for me is to bring TV to the computer ...

On a TV box, hdmi is for signal output.
On a laptop, too, hdmi is for signal output.
To enter, on monitors, TVs
Most likely without additional equipment - nothing . Is
n't it easier to record a broadcast from the Internet? Or then download it in the archive of the TV channel?
What channel is that?

If it's purely software, then look in the settings of this set-top box for wireless monitor or miracast or image broadcast, etc.
Then you raise the miracast wifi server on the laptop and get an image, unfortunately you don’t need windows, but linux
ps windows 10 comes with the miracast receiver functionality (parameters - system - projection to this computer), but I don’t know the exact hardware requirements, there are menu items
pps it turns out there is software , paid, check
the whole point, deliver the image to the computer, and from it already record the image with something like open broadcast studio
-----------
of course, it’s easier to figure out in what form the broadcast arrives on the set-top box, what it is, and or find software for recording images directly on the set-top box

It won't work, because everything on a laptop is outputs. You need a video capture card.
