How to receive and relay an incoming rtmp stream on the server?

I found a program (vMix) that can convert a local rtsp stream from cameras into an rtmp stream and start sending it to a specific server.
I already have nginx compiled with the rtmp module on my debian server and ffmpeg installed.
The question is: how to make the server respond to the rtmp stream knocking on it and start relaying it using ffmpeg?
Alternative softwares and server modules are welcome.
